Like you wish you could break the cycle but it's kinda hard?

I was scared of being a single mom until I was one. then I wished I would have done it sooner. I guess it's kind of a cycle. my mother had a previous husband before meeting my father. my grandmother had multiple husbands but eventually raised them on her own. I don't see it as a negative though. it showed me life doesn't always go the way you planned, but that doesn't mean it can't still be great

I think a common mistake we all make when we get all scared and depressed about things is assuming permanence.
The whole overwhelmed-sleep-deprived-working-single-mom-of-young-kids thing..... well, yeah.  
It sucks.  
BUT it’s not a permanent state of affairs.  It’s just a phase of your life.  
Like high school.  Except with no art class or skip days.  Lol.  
So maybe less fun than high school.  :P
But just as temporary, anyway.

I’m a single mom. It’s not something I would recommend to seek out purposely, of course, but it’s not as bad as I imagined. My son’s dad isn’t around & I hate that for him. That’s really the worst thing by far.
I never thought of this, but I guess I broke the cycle of my family. I’m the very first single mom in all of my entire extended family, including cousins, aunts, etc. My parents are still married at 71 & 67 years old. Every female relative is married to their child(ren)’s father. No matter how unhappy they are, they’ll stay b/c it’s “right”. My family was very embarrassed when they found out I was pregnant & didn’t want/expect me to keep my son. Now that he’s 5, the rude comments & open judgment have completely stopped. Everyone shows him off & doesn’t seem too embarrassed to answer the question everyone seems to ask — “who is &/or where is his dad?”
