Is Anyone Using A Doula?

Question

I'm a FTM and would like to have a natural childbirth (in a hospital). I've been looking into maybe using a doula as my husband and I won't be experienced at all.....are any of you using a doula?

Yes! I used a doula for our birth. All natural at a birth center. She made it easier for my husband to calmly support me. She helped keep me comfortable. Reminded me to breathe. Helped me find positions that could be more comfortable. Helped hsuband know how to help me (where to push on my back for counter pressure for example). I would definitely have a doula again next time around!

Ftm and I used a doula and would definitely recommend it! She helped to keep me grounded/ focused. When I felt that I couldn’t push any more, longer or harder, she gave me such calm and strength to know I could do it. I had a natural home birth under midwifery care. She made such an immense difference in my birth experience and I wouldn’t do it any other way.

Nope! This is our first baby, and neither of us has ever witnessed a birth before. I don’t find a doula to be necessary - my doc will be there, and my SO is completely level headed, so I trust in the small crew I’ll have.
