Anyone lose weight from just eating smaller portions and working out more?

Have any of you ladies lost a good amount of weight from just cutting down how much you eat in a day? I just started the keto diet like 3 days ago and have lost 6 pounds. Which I’m pretty sure it’s just water weight. I know people do this as a lifestyle change but it’s just too expensive to do it as a lifestyle change especially when you’re a teen living with your parents. Give me some inspiration and tell me your story.
