How do y’all handle family and in laws who are always procrastinating ? Like for family events, dinners,

We have always given our families plenty of time to plan out things when they visit and such but it’s seems like every time we plan something hubby or I have to keep asking what our families plans are. Both sides are horrible with planning head. For example I have a scheduled Cesarean coming up and neither side of the family excluding my SIL has kept in touch about whether they will be driving up to see baby after my surgery or if they will be going back home. I’m done asking them but I also don’t want an overwhelming flock of family staying at our apartment all week especially after I get discharged.
