I need one so bad. I suffer with anxiety and depression. I’m so depressed right now and stressed and I really just want one cigarette. I gave up smoking when I found out I was pregnant. But I need this so bad before I do something more stupid...

You really need help!! I just read your comment, what if you take one cigarette but then you want  one more and another one and then another one?? Can you do something else to get distracted? How about a walk? or go to a friend's house? Maybe call a family member.

Smoking isn’t actually going to make your anxiety better, and you’ve accomplished a lot by stopping- it would be a shame to give in and start up again. Why don’t you try something healthy that will relieve your anxiety? Call a friend, take a bath, snuggle a dog, watch a funny movie, get some exercise, cook/bake something yummy, get a massage... whatever works for you.

have you talked to your obgyn? and from reading other comments from you, of course theyre gonna get a social worker invovled, youre pregnant and having suicidal thoughts. you should have spoken to your obgyn first and they could have helped you get on a certain medicine. i know therapists and shit are supposed to help, but maybe a certain medicine could have helped you first. good luck and start asking questions to your ob.

A single cigarette probably won't hurt anything. But be honest with yourself, will you really stop at just one? You need to address your underlying anxiety, first.

Reading your comments re: suicidal thoughts etc., can you reach out to your doctor or a medical professional today? They will be able to give you something to help with it - please please please try to see or talk to someone today - they can do a lot for you, in terms of either medication or giving you resources, more so than all of us on this app.

Almost all the older Generations in my family smoked while pregnant.. None of us have any issues.. this does not mean your baby won't though.. It's not worth the risk.. I would talk to you doctor about healthy and safe alternatives. Also don't be so hard on your self if you do have one, I would still talk to your doctor about long term help though.. I smoked 2 packs a day before I got pregnant, then when I found out I was pregnant I smoked a pack a day cutting down, then around 3 or 4 months in I would be getting sick and so I went to my doctor and it turns out that trying to quit while pregnant was messing with my blood pressure, they say to smoke the minimum without getting sick. then around 5 or 6 months, I tried to completely quit because I know it wasnt good for my baby, I wound up in the hospital, they said I cannot quit, the longer I waited to have one, the more the babies heartrate would plummet. so instead of quitting all together, I switched to vaping, with the lowest nicotine (which is a 3)
