My sweet girl is here ❤️❤️

This is so exciting, being able to share my birth story because it means my little girl is finally here! To say things didn’t go as planned is an understatement, but I truly can’t complain- things went beautifully. At 39+5, I was still only dilated 1 cm, baby was high and doctor said my cervix was firm. This was frustrating as I had been 1cm for almost 4 weeks and I just wasn’t progressing like I had hoped. We scheduled an induction for the night of 3/28 and I accepted that I would just have to wait until I was 41+1 to have this baby. Also, I have to add that multiple doctors had been saying baby was head down since I was 34 weeks. I have been going to a very reputable OB practice where I see a different doctor each time. I got to know them all so that come delivery, I would know whichever doctor was on call. Anyway, 3/22 was a normal day, I did errands and went to bed as usual, waking up every hour to pee. I woke up again at 5:45 AM and as soon as I stood, I felt warm water gush down my legs. I excitedly woke up my SO to inform him and we proceeded to get ready for the hospital. About 10 minutes later, I used the restroom and noticed a huge blob of tarry looking stuff in my underwear. My underwear was black so I thought at first that this was blood and that I was having my “bloody show”. However, after touching it, it realized it had a greenish tint to it and I immediately recognized it as meconium. This worried us so we hurried to the hospital (which fortunately is only about 10 min away). I checked in at triage and the first thing the nurse asked was if my baby was breech. I said no, I had been told that she was head down. They got me all set up in a room and I was still only 1cm dilated. The nurse said that she wasn’t convinced that what she was feeling was my baby’s head, so she ordered an ultrasound. Sure enough, the ultrasound revealed that baby was breech and the doctor came in to inform me that I would be needing a c section ASAP. Within 45 min I was being taken to the OR where my beautiful baby was born at 9:02 AM. She weighed 6 lbs 10oz and fortunately, there we no complications from the meconium being passed. She is absolutely perfect and so far, recovery has been a breeze. The pain is nothing like I had imagined and I have to say, being spared a long labor meant I had quite a bit of energy once she was born, I didn’t feel worn out. After 3 nights in the hospital, we are home. Breast feeding is a bit challenging but all in all, Im just in complete and utter awe. I feel like the luckiest woman and I have given God praise every day for this blessing. Wishing all you mamas the best and a happy, healthy pregnancy/delivery 💕
