Do you think people are genetically predispositioned to gender? Or is gender learned?

THINGS TO REMEMBER WHILE ENGAGING IN THIS POLL:

-THE RULES

-GENDER ≠ SEX

-GENDER IS A SPECTRUM SO THERE ARE MORE THAN TWO GENDERS.

IF THIS GETS NASTY I WILL NOT HESITATE TO DELETE THIS POLL SO PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL.

I was watching Gender Revolution on Netflix where they were talking about a study conducted in 1966 by Dr. John Money. Money theorized nurture could supersede nature when it came to gender identity. He found an opportunity to actually test out this hypothesis on two identical twins who had been born male. One had a botched circumcision that had destroyed his penis. To conduct this study, he was reassigned and lived his life out as a female. For many years it was believed that the study was a success all the while "Brenda" was miserable. He was told at the age of 14 the truth and immediately went back to being a boy and became David Reimer. This study ruined him and in 2004 (TRIGGER WARNING) he committed suicide. By then it was already too late as John Money was considered a world-renowned expert and the Reimer case had established the rationale for operating on intersex babies and the thought that you can impose a certain gender through sugery and parenting

Another study on intersex children, conducted the same year David Reimer committed suicide seemed to confirm that gender is biologically predetermined and cannot be manipulated. 16 children were born with a rare intersex condition. While they had XY chromosomes and were genetically boys, they were born without penises. Most had vaginas surgically constructed and were raised as girls. Despite the surgery, four of them insisted they were boys. Four others initially lived as girls, but when those kids learned about their medical history, they insisted they were boys too. Nearly two-thirds of the children, despite being raised as girls and having vaginas, they were boys. Whatever happened to the remaining children, we'll never know. The study ended.

Bonus questions:

-Would you change your baby's sex if they were intersex?

-If so, would you accept them if they came to you, telling you they are a different gender?

-Are these studies enough proof that we should leave the choice up to the children, regardless of what we want?
