Margaret or Margot?

I keep going back and forth between these two names for our baby if it's a girl. Would love to hear which you prefer and why. I expect that Margaret would get nicknamed Maggie, Meg, or even Margo.

Is the 't' in Margot silent?  It would be in the UK. I like Margot. It is pretty name.

my real name is Margaret and Meg for short. honestly I hated the name Margaret when I was younger, I got teased to no end about it! not saying no that this will def happen, but something to take into consideration!
