Delivering off your back?

Has anyone ever delivered in a position other than on your back? I would like to deliver like this picture. My dr says it’s fine as long as I’m on the bed because she said the baby is too slippery to deliver in any other location.

Iv delivered five of my babies in a birthing pool, so not laying on my back but in a sitting position. I tried the position in this pic for a few pushes with my biggest baby but wasn’t making progress so I went to my ‘tried and true’ sitting position, which works wonders for me. I do what I’m comfortable with and my midwife of fine with it

As long as your dr says it’s fine go for it. Just make sure the nurses are aware of your preference. And also remember that your dr may not be the one who actually delivers you.

I birthed my 2nd and 3rd in this position and wish I had done the same with my first!

I haven't believered but I have had two misscarrages in the last two years. I was wanting to have a water birth. Anything except for laying on my back really.

I had a water birth with my second and I delivered on my hands and knees. 
You could definitely deliver like that on the bed if you decide the picture isn’t how you want to do it.

I delivered in a crouching position. No tearing, had her out in a couple pushes and caught her myself
