Is it rude to ask for gifts at a wedding/baby shower?

I’m a bit confused about the question. Do you mean is it rude to include where you’re registered? I have never actually come across a shower invite that blatantly asks for gifts, but I think including where you’re registered as a suggestion is traditional and not at all rude.

I have never heard of people not bringing gifts to a wedding or baby shower. By attending the event it’s implied to bring a gift. It would be so rude and awkward to not.

I meant to click no but hit yes by accident.  Showers are meant to be gift-giving occasions.  This is partly why it is usually thrown by someone else so you aren’t asking for gifts yourself, however.

It's  pretty much common courtesy  to bring a gift  to an event like that. I mean, If you're being fed you should at least bring a onsie or a picture  frame.

You should at least bring something as a token of congratulations to the occasion. There are registries where the person can select specific items that will be most needed. Makes it easy to know you’ll get something they will actually use! Or bring cash , money is always welcome!

No. I think it’s expected, and most people will ask you where you’re registered if you don’t provide the information. They expect you to want/need gifts.
Getting gifts for our wedding helped our transition afterwards, and I know getting gifts for the baby will be the same.

A shower automatically includes gifts. Thats like the main thing. For a birthday party, gifts are expected so theres no need to ask. It's the same concept.
