is 2.5 year old too young to be a flower girl?

Question

my sister's wedding will be in June and my daughter will be 2.5 years old by then. my question is will she be old enough to understand what she needs to do as a flower girl or will she still be too young? I keep going back and forth on this becuase she's getting smarter everyday with basic things like vocab, color, and numbers but I'm worried she'll have trouble with doing this specific task when asked and in front of people. I need to buy her dress soon and dont want to waste money on it if her attention span wont allow her to do her job. lol thanks.

My daughter was a flower girl at 12 months for my sister lol. My husband had to help her down the aisle because I was in the bridal party. 
We also had a second flower girl who just turned 3. She did great! When we had the rehearsal, we just kept reminding her what she needed to do and who to look for (me). We also bribed her with candy lol. Her grandma walked her to the back of the aisle and then she walked down the aisle alone. I waved her towards me and she came happily. She also stood right in front of me the whole ceremony. I kept telling her she did so good and we had her favorite candy for her as soon as this was done. 
If you have loose expectations and don’t mind it not being perfect, I think 2.5 years old is okay. It also depends on your daughters personality though.

We had all of our nieces (4 in total) walk down as flower girls. The youngest was 18 months at the time and she was fine. What we had her do was walk down holding one of the older girls hands (who was 4) and then she went and sat with her grandma who was in the front row for the ceremony. That way she could be present without having to stand up there. Attention span totally depends on the kid though. The 4 year old was more attentive and polite during the ceremony than the 7 year old.

I am having both my god daughters be my flower girls and the one will be 3.5 years old and the other will be 11 months old. My son will be our ring bearer and he’ll be 1.5 years old. They may need a little assistance but it’s the cute factor haha. My goal is to have my oldest god daughter pull my son and the other flower girl down the aisle in a wagon

she may be able to,  tell her auntie needs to follow the flowers, do a chow rehearsals at home. unfortunately, the biggest issue will be the crowd of strangers, and you won't know that until that day

I was asked to be a flower girl when I was about that age. I did great during the rehearsal. The day of the wedding, I absolutely refused to walk down the aisle because I saw some people I didn't recognize. They tried everything to get me down that aisle, but I went hysterical and eventually they gave up. That being said, I've seen other kids about that age walk down the aisle just fine… It really depends on your kid and their personality :)

does she follow instructions on demand? is she not shy infront of a crowd?... ive seen 2 occasions 1 being my 15 i wanted my sister to walk in she was like 3 and the day of she would not walk in and they tried to force her to walk and and she just started crying.  then i was at a girls wedding where the bride wanted her 2 year old daughter to walk in and she went a few steps and then refused to walk so they carried her the rest of the way. both occasions the girl was just walking. so might be possible maybe try some practice runs.
