heartbeat at first appointment?

does anyone know if the midwife listens for a heartbeat during the first appointment (I will be 9 weeks)? or do I have to wait for the 12 week scan for that? thanks!

Same for me, you could see the heart at the 12 week scan but I didn’t hear until 16 week appointment.

I'm 19w4d and I've still not heard our babies heart beat, hospital and midwife hasn't done it yet. don't know if it'll even happen yet!

It was 16 weeks for me; I was told anytime before that was a little early and it avoids people panicking if it can't be found.

I didn’t hear babies heartbeat until my 26 week midwife appointment even at the scans they never turned it up so we could hear it.

With a Doppler at the midwife I was 22 weeks, but some of my friends their midwife did at their 16 week appointment
