Postpartum Hell

Ella

No one ever tells you about the aftermath of having a baby just that your be a bit sore

Well that was an understatement for me I think it was actually worse than the birth.

I had to be cut during labour and forceps to get my DD out the doctor stitched me up and the midwife said he had done an excellent job.

I’ve never felt so sore down there I didn’t look but I felt extremely swollen i don’t think I weed for at least 12 hours after and that shit burned as for doing your first poopy all I can say is OMG !!

I took all my medicines and bathe everyday trying to be careful with stitches and i just felt like it was getting worse down there and not healing so as much as I didn’t want to I asked my mum to have a look because she is a nurse and I was to scared to look myself , so she looked and said omg you’ve got a massive gaping hole !

I just broke down all my stitches had come out I went straight to the hospital and the doctor said they had completely come away I had an infection and would have to be re stitched once it cleared he send me home with antibiotics for a week . I went back a week later still had an infection it took another 3 trips to the hospital and three different types of antibiotics to clear the infection. The doctor said it had started to close and heal but I may be left with a hole which I would have to have surgery to cut away the skin and redo.

Well anyway I finally went for my 6wk postpartum check and the doctor said it had healed but there was an extra flap of skin where it’s come together he said I could have it removed for cosmetic reasons i just basically live with it. I was really upset i felt so abnormal my partner was so reassuring and said he didn’t care lol

Anyway about 3months postpartum I had a look and it’s completely gone and back to normal !! So to any mummy’s out there time is the best healer let your body rest and I’m sure your be back to normal in no time but yes the aftermath isn’t pretty
