Progesterone Question?.

I was prescribed A progesterone capsule to take vaginally (200mg) at bedtime.. has anyone else been prescribed this? Does it like dissolve or something? I’m honestly pretty confused. How the hell do I insert it??

Any of you ladies use this one? Yes, it says orally but my prescription label says to use it vaginally.. 🤔🤔
I’m 23 weeks & have an incompetent cervix  so I have to use these with the injection Makena 
Pharmacist wasn’t able to give me instructions when I called

Also it should come with an applicator sort of like a tampon to insert, if not just push up as far as you can and they melt with your body heat!

I was! I inserted it every night before bed because they can be sort of messy so it’s best not to be up walking around after you put it in. Mine were clear but i have read about ladies getting pink or red ones 😳 but i never had any issues and i stopped taking them at 12 weeks and in 15 weeks now

Mine was super messy when I took the wrapping off it. Then for my second batch, it must have frozen better or something because it wasn't as messy. I used an applicator during my second batch and it made it so much easier. I was able to just stand up and insert it like a tampon using the applicator, put a pantyliner in, and then ran to my bed and laid down right away lol. It was definitely a chore, but you will get used to it as part of your routine!

Just push it in, lol. My doctor told me it didn't have to be pushed super far. I was taking 2 -200mg capsules twice daily, but just stopped at 12 weeks. It does dissolve, but invest in panty liners. It's oily, so it gets everywhere. I wore a regular pad at night to bed, and a panty liner during the day.

Yes. I conceived through IUI and was prescribed 100mg of progesterone 1x in the morning and 1x at night. I have been on it for 4 weeks and have been told I would continue on them until I am 10 weeks. Progesterone helps support endometrial lining of the uterus. I usually squat down and insert them as far as it can go. Depending on the color (mine are pink) you may need a thin panty liner for leakage.

Mine came with applicators but you can do it with your fingers.. just harder. It does dissolve on its own. Wear a liner, it leaks a bit of goop... also will make you feel super bloated!  And kinda moody... like you’re on your period. But hey it helped keep my baby healthy during my first trimester so... it’s tough but worth it. Y

I have to do it every night. Do it before you get into bed. Wash your hands and hold the capsule in between your thumb and pointer finger. push it up into your vaginal canal with your pointer finger as if you are checking your cervical mucus. Use a panty liner because it will dissolve but some will also come out. You need to lay down after inserting for at least 30 minutes.

I just started it too - pharmacist told me you just push it up your vagina like a tampon and push in past your second knuckle. Or u can get an applicator. Sorry wish I could help more.
