in your experience, which is easier to hide long term?

I'm going on a cruise and haven't decided whether I'm gonna get a piercing or tattoo. I've got the shop picked out and everything, I just can't pick between these two options. Basically, my parents don't want me to event pierce my septum and they have said no tattoos until I move out (I'm 20) so whatever I do will have to remain a secret.

Ideally, in stuck between both considering the fact with the septum you'd be able to tuck it up, even though that may be difficult with healing and all.. but the tattoo may be more difficult to hide, so the piercing may be easier for the moment.. I think both would be something good though. The situation seems to really suck, especially since you're an adult & I know you want to respect your parents wishes since you live under their household & all but it's your body in the end & you can technically do whatever you want with it.. the other difficulty may be, swimming wise / tan wise is a bad idea when right after getting a tattoo & piercing. More so the tattoo though.

If you can’t defend your decisions against your parents and feel a need to hide it then you probably shouldn’t get either done

you can buy clear pieces meant for concealing of the septum piercing but going on a cruise would make it extremely difficult to cover up a hip tattoo i imagine if you plan on wearing a bathing suit
