Is it normal for a Dr to want to wait til I'm 18 weeks to do the blood work for downs?

I feel like that's late for screening tests if you would consider termination, otherwise it's fine. They would still need to do the amnio or cvs if you were high risk to accurately diagnose, so that could also take a couple weeks.

My doctors have always done the blood work at the 2nd apt, but I'm sure all doctors do things differently.

I have downs in my family and they still said they're not testing me until my 20w appt.

That is what they are doing for me. But she said they are doing it because I'm 35.
