When should I start shopping for my hospital bag?

Hi ladies I’m 21 weeks and 4 days pregnant. When do you think I should start shopping for my hospital bag? And things would I need?

I’m planning on having mine packed by 34 weeks because we’ll be moving when I’m 36 weeks and I don’t want to lose track of things I need during the move. I’m just using our diaper bag and and old large  purse

You don't really shop for your hospital bag,  it's just stuff that you already have on hand for you and baby.  As far as what to bring,  the short version is anything to make your life easier or more comfortable.  Comfy clothes,  special outfit for baby to wear home,  changes of clothes for your partner,  snacks,  etc.

I'm 34 weeks and don't have anything ready. I live 5 mins from the hospital and my midwife comes to my house first to check labour so I'm in no rush to pack. I was in the hospital less than 24hrs with my first so I didn't need much besides a change of clothes for me and baby. I plan to pack clothes, small shampoo and conditioner, slippers, robe and cell charger.

Just pack whatever bag you have. If you have nothing, on amazon they have these fold up duffel bags for $12, they fold up to the size of a Ziploc bag. You really need nothing fancy, just enough for a couple days of lounge wear clothes and toiletries.

I get everything packed and in the car by 32wks just in case. This is my 5th and it's always better to be prepared early than to be surprised early and not be ready. Also I have rapid labor. The last time I didn't get induced my water broke at 12:30 and I had that baby at 1:44. So things can go faster than you expect.

I just use an old grocery tote for mine. Grabbed a few travel-sized toiletries and a change of clothes and called it good.

..... just use a bag you have at home like a back pack ... and not intill 8 month pregnant
