Bed sharing?

Question

I posted this a few days ago silly me I got confused with co sleeping and bed sharing. What I wanted to know is how many people share their bed with their newborn? I’ve read more and more lately of people doing it and I don’t know what to do for this best. I’m only 15 weeks so I know I’ve got a long time to go yet. I have a 10 year old son and I never shared a bed with him but just wanted to know peoples opinions on bed sharing thanks x

Norwegian guidelines include information on safe bedsharing, which worked great for us the first six months. my son woke a lot, fed a lot, and was hard to settle. bedsharing was the only way I wasn't hysterical with fatigue those first few months. 
we moved him into his own room at six months and he now falls asleep on his own almost instantly and sleeps through the night.

My baby was in a Moses basket till he was 3 weeks old then came into the bed with us, even before that id be  feeding him in the night and falling asleep during so he probably bed shared with us from a few days old. Make sure you look up how to do it safely. My baby is 6 months now and sleeps through 7-7 dreamfeeding all night

I’ve been sharing my bed with my son since he was a newborn he was never in his crib or his bassinet I used co sleeper

He is 4 now and I still prefer him to sleep with me

It just depends on the baby and what works best for you. I haven’t bed shared bc I didn’t need to, but I had her beside my bed in a bassinet. My SO is a heavy sleeper and he flails a lot (I get hit in the face regularly lol) and I’m a light sleeper so I wouldn’t get any sleep. It wouldn’t work for us, but for others it’s the only way they can all get a good nights sleep.

I shared my bed with both my boys because it was easier to nurse, I'm a very light sleeper and have a king size bed. I placed bumpers around them so they couldn't roll into me or off the bed. I loved it but there are risks and I think I'll likely get a co-sleeper for the next one.

My son slept in bed with me till he was a year old. I loved it. He did very well with transferring to his crib. It was just easy for us because we breastfed! Everyone has their opinions on it but I think if you do it safety then you are okay

It depends on your baby truthfully hah. My son slept on his own until 4-5 months and then went into a sleep regression so he has slept with us since. My next one will stay in the crib hopefully. But a newborn I probably wouldn't.

I put the bassinet right next to my side of the bed. I sleep WILD so i dont share with babies. I’d sleep with him for naps and stuff but typically he was in his bassinet and then his crib!!

I don’t really have opinions on others doing it, but it’s definitely not for me. I got lucky because my son slept really well in the halo bassinet we got. The way I sleep is insane and my bed is not a good environment for a baby to sleep it lol.

There are ways to SAFELY bedshare, and when done properly every single night it can be more beneficial for mama and baby. 
The incidents that happen due to bedsharing are almost always related to one or more of the safe sleep guidelines not being followed correctly. If there were more education on the matter, there would be less risk involved.
