Her skull was fused!!!

Da

So this is almost a month late as my daughter was born on March 10th; but better late than never.

I went in for a normal OB appointment around noon on Friday , my blood pressure was SKY ROCKET high. My pervious appointments it had been on the higher end of normal but this time it was bad. She had me come back around 5 pm to check again at the birth centre. Of course; still high. So induce me it was. She inserted the folley bulb and then I went home. Came back around 9 pm to be admitted and I was having regular contractions all on my own but the bulb hadn’t fallen out yet. I was started on fentanyl to help with pain. From here on out I don’t know times or really what exactly happened at all but I’ll try my best. A few hours later my OB came to check the bulb, still didn’t come out but I was contracting very intensely and regularly. This is with no pitocin yet. They ended up starting pit for idk what reason bc I was contracting but I guess I wasn’t dilating fast enough. She broke my water (which apparently didn’t work even tho I wet like 100 pads 😂 but that’s revealed later in the story). As soon as they started pit I was contracting every 30 seconds. So epidural it was. As soon as I got the epidural (which went great aside from vomiting all over the nurse immediately after) my BP went waaaaaaaaay down, like dangerously low. I started to feel myself get reeeeeal sleepy. They gave me something to counteract that and I was checked, nearly 34 hours into my labor, I was barely over 3 cm. With constant contractions and being fully effaced since the bulb came out, my doctor got a little concerned. She gave me the option, ride it out or c-section. I hadn’t slept in 34 hours, my body was tired and I hurt all over from being strapped to a bed; I said c-section. This was at 5 pm and by 6:11pm on Saturday March 10th I had my daughter. She was 7lbs 10oz and 22 inches long. In the middle of my section I heard the doctor yell about an excessive amount of water that came out despite mine having been broken. My boyfriend got first skin to skin with her and then they checked her over. That’s when they said from across the room “ she has no soft spot”. My daughters head was fully fused and was unable to pass through my pelvis which was why I was having no progress with my labor. I was happy tho that my daughter was born healthy, the c-section never upset me. It wasn’t until after when we were visiting when my boyfriends mother informed me that both herself and my boyfriend were born with that same fused head resulting in dangerous labor’s (my boyfriends grandma was pronounced clinically dead after having his mom and had to be revived) and a c-section for my boyfriends mom to have my boyfriend. It was a crazy 30 hours of labor but she’s here and she’s perfect ❤️
