Thoughts on membrane sweeps?

Do they work? Does it hurt? Might be having one on Wednesday, just want to know what to expect.

Never worked for me. Had 3 and had to be induced at 40+6.

Worked for me! Went into labor two days later.

I had one and didn't even know it til I got to the hospital to be induced the next day. my midwife didn't tell me did it and once I got checked at hospital they could tell immediately. i didn't feel it at all and it didn't really help me dilate.

worked with my first not with my second, and it's a little painful in the moment but it doesn't last long. kind of like a finger poke

never worked for me.  definitely varies on intensity depending on who does it. my midwife is suuuuuuper agressive about it.

Personally, it was uncomfortable. But didn’t feel any different from the normal check. She was just in there longer. I lost my plug, but didn’t go into labor for a week/week and a half after. In my opinion, I think they only work if your body is ready to labor.
