More than 1 ultrasound before 20 weeks?

So i am really sad and nervous as I can’t get another ultrasound until 20 weeks. We got to see the jelly bean at 9weeks 2days and everything seemed normal and heartbeat was 171. Did any else just have a viable scan and didn’t get to see there baby until 20 weeks??

mine only does 2. the first one is at 12 weeks and the 2nd at 20. that's usually how it goes. 
I had completely different insurance and the same happened with my daughter

You can get an ultrasound from a private clinic. I'm getting an ultrasound at 17 weeks at a private clinic (mainly to find out the gender but also to see how they're doing). The clinic I'm going to charges $60 for a 30 minute scan and they give a DVD and photos at the end ☺

I saw the heartbeat at 7wk, and when 12wk was approaching, they said they wouldn't do another until 19wk.  To reassure me, my midwife said I could pop by the midwifery on my lunch break to hear the heartbeat on the doppler  (After 3 losses, I REALLY needed the reassurance).  She couldn't find the heartbeat, I panicked, and they ended up calling every hospital within an hours drive.  I ended up getting squeezed in that day.  It was only a quick scan, didn't check nuchal translucency or anything, but it did show baby was fine & growing.  If you really need a scan, tell your dr you've been having spotting.  If you've bled at all, they will get you in quickly for a scan.

I'm 10+5 and have already had 2 ultrasounds one at 7 week and one yesterday at 10+4. I will have a 3rd on the 13th to check for down syndrome. Were paying to have a 3d/4d one at 14 weeks to find out gender then will have the 20 week one done.

Same! I had an initial ultrasound a little after 8 weeks to check things out. My next ultrasound will be at my 20 week appointment. I’ll be 19 weeks and some days for the 20 week appointment. 
At first I thought it was weird that there weren’t more ultrasounds. Now, I find it to help me keep the peace that my babe is just a growing and the docs are too worried! :) 
 
It helps that the heart rate has been consistently good too :)

I had some cramping and spotting at 5 weeks so our first ultrasound was at 6 weeks. The doc said everything looked good and confirmed the heart beat, so they told me not to come back until 13 weeks for the nuchal translucency test ultrasound (family history of down syndrome). 7 weeks was too long for me to wait, especially with the cramping/spotting scare in the beginning so I found an elective ultrasound place nearby. So happy I did because I had anxiety before being pregnant so being able to check in on the LO every other week has been a blessing. I'd look to see if there are any places like that near you.

I only had a scan for dating purposes and will only have one at around 20 weeks as well. My doctor only does two, my insurance only covers two unless for some reason there is a medically necessary reason.
