Did I test too early?

Question

My breast have been sore, waves of nausea, fatigue. So I took a pregnancy test and it showed up as not pregnant. Yesterday I would have started my period and still I haven't started. Did I test too early?

Crazy right! I am in same shoes. Makes me wonder if not enough hcg to show up, chemical pregnancy exiting or just a bizarre cycle with AF arriving later than every other consistent month. I am going to see if AF shows in a few days and test again Tues or Wed.
