When to start putting together the nursery?

Hey ladies. Just wondering around when some of you started putting together your nursery? We are going to use one of our guest bedrooms and we ALWAYS have guests so it's always being used but I'm so anxious to get started.

We started way earlier than I thought we would. We had a giant ceiling leak in the guest room that was going to become the baby room when I was between 11-12w. We had planned to wait and let family stay with us later this summer before really clearing the room. In order to fix the ceiling, we had to remove all the furniture, cut out a big hole, and replace it.

The furniture was picked up this past weekend by the Junior Assistance League. We live near a major Army base and donated the entire room of furniture to enlisted soldiers who can put food on the table for their families but not necessarily buy nice furniture. It's a cool program and saved us from having to Craigslist the furniture. Plus the soldiers need it and they already do so much for us.

With the room cleared, we painted four different paint samples on the walls and could start to get the ceiling repaired. We have settled on two colors and my hubby plans to paint it in a couple weeks. I am 13w2d so we are moving right along. We don't have any baby furniture yet but that will be coming. Extended family isn't going to stay with us as we no longer have a  room for them but I honestly am enjoying being able to take our time with the baby room.

There's not a huge rush really. We cleared out the room early on but I'm 34 weeks and still have not done anything except paint so far. Might set up the crib in the next few weeks...might not haha

Start earlier than you think you need to. Especially if you're thinking about repainting or anything like that. By 33 weeks, our nursery is half done with no furniture set up and I keep crying with frustration because I want to beat and can't. I try to tide myself over by doing the baby's laundry but at this point it's been washed about ten times and I'm starting to worry about wearing out his clothes before he gets to wear them.

I think we're planning on waiting until we find out what what gender we're having. I think either way will be fire trucks bc husband is a fireman lol

I'm starting really late haha. I'm almost 33 weeks and that's us just starting to clear out the room and paint and get carpet and organise all of the furniture. It probably won't take very long and hopefully keep me occupied in my last few weeks ☺️

I am 25 weeks and we are just now painting the baby's room. I won't set anything up until after the baby shower which will be at around 30-32 weeks. But it will be painted and empty until then. :)

I'm impatient too. We are making the guest room the nursery too and I want the bed out of there and to the basement so I can get the crib set up. Husband is like we don't have to do that yet lol. I'm only 17 weeks so he's right but until then the baby's stuff is going to stay in our living room then!
