Baby shower after loss?

So we lost our son stillborn at 8 months. We had our baby shower maybe 10 days before I delivered him, so needless to say I felt bad for even having one. 
Good news however, we’re expecting again after a year and a half, and just found out its a boy again! 
We parted ways with most of our things from the shower for grieving purposes (my sister in law was having a boy shortly after our loss so I gave her a lot of the stuff)
Is it okay to have another shower? We’re high risk this time as well so we could lose our baby this time too. 😭
I don’t feel like I can celebrate being pregnant again if it could end the same.

First and most importantly - I’m so sorry for the loss of your first babe. Absolutely heart wrenching but happy for you to be on this journey with your new rainbow. 
Perhaps consider having a post- birth WELCOME baby celebration (if that makes you more comfortable). 
I think you should absolutely create a registry for your needs! Your friends and family will want to celebrate with and for you!

I have been struggling with this also but decided to wait til after the baby was born to have a shower.

What about waiting to have the shower after the baby is home and healthy? If you have friends who can give you some hand me downs, maybe a family member or a few to help out immediately with bigger items... car seat, bassinet... You’re totally “allowed” to have another shower, but I worry it might be emotionally triggering for you.

We have having a baby sprinkle instead ! We lost our son at 32 weeks in September. We still wanna celebrate but we don't wanna get all sorts of stuff after we already did. So it's a smaller one. 
People suggested a meet the baby party but I'm too scared everyone will wanna touch my newborn and the baby will get sick :( maybe I'm paranoid because of my son dying but I just don't feel comfortable with that. So I am going with the sprinkle! (: 
Maybe ask people for books only or something small like that if you already have everything. That way y'all can celebrate still !

I'm sorry for your lose. I lost my daughter at 23 1/2 weeks, and am also considered high risk. I think it is perfectly okay to have another baby shower. If I get my rainbow baby we are definently waiting until after the six week post partum check up. just so that we can make sure everything is okay with the baby before showing it off.

I think you absolutely deserve another shower, you need some love and tike to celebrate this new baby. if you feel up to it. I lost my baby last year during labor at 41 weeks and I cant stand anyone congratulating me, let alone throw me a party but i wish I could enjoy this. dont be like me. celebrate this amazing time in your life. congratulations.

I lost my daughter last year at 22 weeks. This pregnancy I'm 25 weeks right now and not planning on having a baby shower or telling anyone other than family and work and people who see me and will know, that I'm even pregnant. I think that if my mom and sister want to throw me a baby shower that I will let them, but wait until after I give birth. That will make me feel better. Although, honestly I'm still torn on if I even want one. I'm so antisocial and get pretty anxious at social events that I'm not excited by the thought.
