Do bigger ladies think it’s offensive to say they are “fat”

I’ve seen some bigger ladies say they don’t care about the word and some say it’s offensive, just wondering what you guys think! personally i’d assume it’s offensive but i’m also not a bigger lady so i can’t really say what would and wouldn’t be offensive to them

I’d be pretty pissed if someone said i was fat!  I can call myself fat but no one else can!

I feel like generally bigger ladies consider it offensive because of all the negative connotations around it and because of their own insecurities around the topic.
The ones who don't get offended are generally the ones who are really self aware and have the most confidence because they know to feel good about themselves no matter what size they are.
I wish more people could learn to embrace it because it just seems so ridiculous to insist that someone isn't fat when they truly are. I hate how much society tries to coddle people sometimes.
It's like me, a 4'11" lady, trying to convince everyone that I'm not short.
Like come on, you're fat! It's okay. Own it and work it or change your lifestyle.

I think it is offensive but it depends on how close you are with the person, if you are close to a big person then they may not care but if you say it to someone your not close with they may find it extremely offensive xx

When I grew up I was chubby and got told I was fat ? I mean who would want that tbh .. but now that I got skinner I used to get called anorexic so you can’t win

It's sort of weird. The word itself is fine, and if I refer to any of my... more plush areas as "my fat", it's fine. But if someone were to just outright say I was fat, even if they didn't intend it in a mean way, I think it would hurt my feelings :\
