Would you give your baby a name his or her father did not like?

What if you REALLY like a name and the father just didn't like it at all?

No way! You need to be on the exact same page or someone will resent the other one later on. You made that baby together, you have to name it together too.

I did. I picked out the first name - jaren & I gave him my SO's middle & last. He'll just have to deal. My body is getting ruined so I think I deserve to name my son. ☺️

Would you be cool with it if the rolls were reversed? What if you were sleeping when they came in to get the name info and he just picked something you didn't like. I say the name is something you have to agree on if the dad is in the babies life even just a little.

Depends on your relationship with the father. If it is a serious relationship and long term, I would say it's very rude and inconsiderate.... I'm all for the mother being more important however the father also played a role in helping make the baby and they deserve a say in their child's life just as much as the mother.

No we have both to agree on a name or we can't name that.

No because you never know what's going on when your giving birth. What if your so knocked out on drugs and pain that you can't say anything and the dad ends up picking the name? You should always agree beforehand. Neither of you should be going behind the others back. Try talking to him about the name. Sometimes compromises can be made or maybe he'll give in because he sees how important it is to you.

I think it depends on if he's around for starters. I love the name Trenton (Trent) but my husband hates it. The search goes on.... :)

No. That's not fair. I chose a name that he was on the fence about but I loved. He grew to love it as well. I wouldn't choose one he straight out hated.
