Dangerous or no?

This scar is 8 years ago & I'm getting a cover-up on Thursday of a tattoo near it, not sure if the artist will have to go over this scar but if he does will the tattoo look ugly? or is it dangerous to tattoo over a scar like this?

not dangerous, just be clear about it with your artist and ask if they have experience/confidence tattooing over scars. it may hurt more and the scar tissue may take the ink differently or require a touchup!

Nope. It shouldn’t cause any issues. I have a scar like that and got a tattoo on top of it (not the whole scar covered up, but parts of my tatt went over the scar) and it’s perfectly fine. I’ve never had any issues with it. Only thing, is that is may hurt just a little bit more when going over the scar just cause the skin is a bit more... sensitive/thin. Other than that, you should be perfectly fine. But if by chance there is any cause for concern.. your artist would definitely let you know prior.

It can be difficult since the scar is a different form of skin but your artist should tell you if they are comfortable with their ability to tattoo that area. Some are some arent but no it wont look ugly at all! The only difference it could make is the ink could spread out a bit more but it can also hurt more since its a scar. Either way you shouldnt be worried, if it ends up needing a touch up thats completely normal!
