Things to do with a newborn

So I’m due June 3rd which is a really awkward date because I could be due in May or later than my due date. But I’m wondering what are some things to do with a newborn in the summer. I know my stepdads parents have a pool so I’ll most likely be there visiting and hanging out during their cookouts and I was wondering if it would be safe and okay for my LO to go in the pool or at least relax by the pool if I provide shade ? She will be around 1-2 months.
