Who circumcises the baby?

First time having a boy... Was wondering who circumcises him and when?

My OB circumsized our son. It's a personal choice but I would hate to have my son have to go through a circumcision at a later age. It's a lot more involved and painful. I have no problem with those who don't but don't bash people who do.

With no medical benefit and psychological harm to the infant, I would research before deciding to do it. Most hospitals won't do it anymore because it's not helpful in any way to the baby and could cause infection. They don't anesthetize the baby or put them under, it's a really traumatic and painful experience for them. If you're gonna do it, at least be informed. It's becoming a less popular decision for those who don't do it for religious purposes. It's more of a U.S. Social norm/stigma to be circumcised.

The pediatrician does it at my hospital.

My kiddo wasn't really bothered. He got a little numbing medicine and sucked on the nurses finger (she had gloves on), and he never even whimpered. His penis never seemed to bother him afterwards - he kicked it once the next day when I was changing his diaper and he didn't even seem to notice.

My OB circumsized my son in the nursery of the hospital. Took like 15 minutes, 5 minutes for the circumcision and like 10 to observe and make sure everything is okay. My son did fine and it heeled so fast. It's your choice people make a huge deal about it on here but it's very common in the US. I don't see much difference in that and piercing babies ears.

My first son was circumcised. The hospital where he was born doesn't perform circumcisions so his pediatrician did it when he was 5 days old. My second son will not be circumcised.

With my first child the father said yes to circumcise him i didnt even know that they did that to babies i was 18 and i hated how they did it looks ugly and has extra skin on i really hated that he said yes to that! The second time i give birth it i had another boy they ask me the same question i said heck no i dont think you shoulf but find out who knows you might want to but i wouldn't. Im pregnant with my third and if im having a boy i will not circumcise him. Hope that helped!

Your pediatrician will come to the hospital and do it. Our first was a boy and we made the decision to have him circumcised. Our pediatrician was great explained everything to us before he did it. Had my baby back in my arms within 30 min. We had no complications.

I did not have my sons circumcised but my sister had her son done. It was done at the hospital not sure who did I would say the pediatrician BC they came there to check on the baby.
