Coke?

What do y'all think about cokes and being pregnant? I'm 5 weeks?

I drink a Dr.Pepper if we go out to dinner or something. I don't buy soda to have at home, I drink only water and sometimes orange juice with breakfast. With my first I never drank soda I was to paranoid.

My bff drank Pepsi everyday during her pregnancy. Her daughter is very hyperactive so much so her doctor recommended putting her on medication for ADHD. She believes all the soda she drank had something to do w/ it

I have a soda every once in a while. I think it's ok. Maybe try root beer, cream soda, ginger ale or orange soda if you're worried about caffeine?

I'd limit to 1/day because of the caffeine.  I stopped drinking caffeine because I had such bad breast tenderness but I think 1 caffeinated beverage/day is ok.

Soda is really bad for you. I wouldn't drink it while pregnant.

I probably have about 3/4 cans of coke a week. It is the only thing that stops my sickness!

Dont think of it as the caffeine intake but think of the sugar, and the non-existent nutritional value. Maybe once in a while but definitely not every day! There is absolutely nothing good about soda (except the taste ;) it's best to avoid it anyway, so I'd definitely stay away while pregnant. To each his own though...

Studies show that woman who intake a lot of sugar ( like found in coke) over the course of pregnancy have children that are more likely to be obese or develop diabetes over time. The kids crave the sugar... Plus caffeine is a tricky subject. Best to stay away!

my Dr. told me that as long as you keep it under 200mg a day its fine.
