Two under two ?

Our girls will be 16 months apart & although I’m thrilled to be adding another blessing to our family I’m worried about the adjustment and changes. Those of you that have two under two how did you adjust? Any advice you can give?

Mine are 16 months apart. 
Be prepared for the first several weeks to be pure chaos and survival mode. That’s ok. 
Be prepared to maybe not bond with this baby instantly like you did with your first. It’s ok. And very likely due to the chaos and survival mode 
Be prepared to change a lot of diapers 😂 
Be prepared to have your heart melt when your oldest wants to love all over the baby. 
It’s a blast! I love having them so close together. They are 23 months and 7 months now. So much fun!

I just delivered our 2nd daughter 8 days ago, making her 2 years and 1 day younger than her sister. We did A LOT of prep with the eldest, talking about the baby by name, letting her feel movements, and encouraging her to practice Baby care on her doll. We also got several “big sister” books as shower gifts, and reading those at bedtime helped the concept to sink in. We got lucky cuz her daycare did a unit on taking care of babies a month before I was due, so she came home knowing all about diaper changes and bottle feeding! Some hospitals offer big brother/sister classes as well; my cousin did one for her kids and said it was great.

I can’t give advice since I’m pregnant currently with number two and they will be 17.5 months apart but the way I look at it is no matter how old your first is it’ll be hard. Really think about that because it’s true! And it makes me not fear number two at all!
