My sister in law brought a chair out yesterday while we were at her house. I didn’t say anything, but I was thinking to myself, I rather want to hold him! I’m at work all week long on the weekend I want to hold and cuddle him!!!

Try not to worry about the unsolicited advice people give you. We ALL raise our children a little different and do what works best for us. 
I personally don’t hold my child all day long, but that works for me. I have play stations for her that I alternate throughout the day. Of course I hold her and snuggle her, but I also want her to be independent and learn to play on her own. I wanted her to be a little more independent so it’s easier for folks who watch her once I return to work in a few weeks. But not all babies will respond well to not being held. They all have their own personalities and souls.
