Born at 38 weeks! 2/21/18

Ma

So excited to finally share my birth story with you all! I was put on bedrest at 35 weeks pregnant due to high blood pressure! I went to dr weekly after that to check on baby. At week 37 day 6 my dr said it was time to have a baby! I was put into the hospital that night to start the process of thinning my cervix! At 8:30am the next next my dr came to check on me. I was feeling great and not having any contractions. I was 80% thinned out and barely 1cm. He broke my water and started me on pitocon! The fun really began after that 😝 I wasn’t having much contraction but the ones I was having were painful so I decided to get an IV pain Medicine. I felt like labor went downhill from there. The medicine made me extremely sick. I was throwing up, didn’t have any signs of relief and I felt like the whole room was spinning. My nurse checked me and I was just 1cm STILL 🤦🏻‍♀️ We convinced my dr to allow me to get an epidural around 1230! Once I got epidural I was hoping I would get some rest, but I didn’t! I could feel everything on my left side. Even the painful CONTRACTIONS! So the nurse tried to lay me on my right side to help the epidural spread out but it didn’t. The baby heartbeat started to drop so we had to move back to my left side. My nurse said we needed to get another epidural in and I needed to wear the oxygen mask for a bit so I did. While having these strong contractions back to back while waiting for another epidural I felt the urge to poop🤦🏻‍♀️ I told my nurse she needed to check me cause something wasn’t right. She was hesitant to check me since she just checked me 45 min ago! The nurse then states “honey, you won’t be getting another epidural, the only way this pain is going to go away is when we push this baby out!! I was OFFICIALLY 10 cm! I went from 1cm-10cm in just one hour after having the epidural. I started pushing at 1:55pm and at 2:40pm our little Adaleigh Grace was born! Weighing 7lbs 5oz😍💓🎀
