Found out I have PCOS today

Sooooo I was diagnosed with PCOS today and the NP prescribed metformin once a day with breakfast. Everything I’m finding says to take it at night. Did anyone else take it in the am? How long did it take for you to adjust to it? Have you changed diet/exercise? Im worries because I read it can cause diabetes later and it runs high in my family. I’m trying to avoid that. Also I have cystic breast, can the two be related? Input would be greatly appreciated.
