Babies heartbeat was 164 at 8 weeks, 160 at 13 and 122 at 16. Should I be concerned it’s lower? Ultrasound tech said no but still worries me. Why would it lower?

My baby’s heart rate went from 180s to 130s. Its normal for the rate to be higher at the beginning and lower later on. Your baby’s heart rate is fine.

babys heart rate slows a little the further along you go. tell your doctor you are concerned and see if there is anything to worry about.

The way I always think of it is like this: think about how fast a mouses heart beats versus how slow an elephants heart beats - the larger the animal, the slower the heartbeat. Baby starts off super, super tiny, they bigger they get, the slower the heart needs to beat.
Trust the tech, don’t stress yourself out for no reason.

Anything above 120 is normal.  My little guy started with a heartbeat in the 170s around 10 weeks, and over the course of my pregnancy has gone down.  I'm 30 weeeks now and he is typically in the 130s
