Need help.

My period has yet to arrive , so I took a pregnancy test today . (baby is unplanned ) I took the test and it was negative , I did a mini celebration because I'm 18, still In school, and I have a kiddo already . I look away for 30 seconds and then it was positive . Now I can barley see the positive sign. Defective Test ?
