tip on buying the right baby mattress??

searching through all the different kinds of crib mattresses,  reading the reviews !! so exhausting  trying to pick one ! honestly does it matter ?!

It does! You want a hard mattress they are safest.

Definitely a hard mattress. Not only are they safer, they’re the only ones my LO would sleep on! Her crib mattress was too soft and she wouldn’t sleep in it, but she’d sleep in her pack n play bc it was firmer.

When we were searching I knew I wanted
1. firm mattress for safety reason, but not so firm that it felt like baby was sleeping on a rock :-/
2.Dual sided mattress (one side is infant, the other side is toddler)
3. Waterproof+stain resistant+hypoallergenic, but NOT the hard vinyl plastic-y ones.
We eventually went with the Sealy Premier Posture dual sided mattress. My daughter is now 20 months old and we've never had an issue. It fit nicely in her Graco crib and the standard crib sheets we bought fit like a glove. My DD a great sleeper and she sleeps in her crib every night... cant say with 100% certainty that the mattress had anything to do with it, but I'm sure it helps!
