Avocado is for baby’s first food!?

Question

I have a 4months 10 days old daughter and her pediatrician said we can start solid food if we like. 
I was thinking of avocado because I heard baby can be gassy with rice cereal but I’m worried!
Can anyone develop allergy to avocado?!?
Have you tried to give avocado for 4 months old?!

Avocado is a great first food. Full of healthy fats for their brain. Starting with cereal is old, outdated advice. There is nothing nutritious about it at all and it’s completely unnecessary. Mashed banana, mashed avocado, puréed and watered down chicken, all greats starts

We were also given the okay for solids at 4 months and still waited until 6 months. There's zero benefits to starting sooner than that. But our daughter has been eating avocado since she was 6 months old with zero issues. She's now about to be 11 months and it's one of her favorite foods. We did baby led weaning so for the most part, our daughter has always just eaten whatever we're eating. No purees or anything. And we skipped all cereals. There's no benefits to them so we didn't even bother there. Many pediatricians don't even recommend cereals anymore.

We were given the OK for foods at 4 months as well. We held off until 6 months. There's no point in rushing it. Her first food was Avocado. She doesn't really care for it. Every other food she'll eat. Doesn't matter. Most babies like sweet potatoes 😊

We were told we could start at 4 months too, but every other recommendation says wait until 6 months. 
I’ve always had a very hungry baby so it was tempting to start at 4 months, but theres no benefit to it so we waited. His first food was sliced avocado. We never did purees, once he turned 6 months he just started eating off of my plate.

I gave my daughter avocado at 6 months. She loved it so much I would always give it to her but she ended up constipated from it. I felt so bad so I went easy on it after we had that happen to us. Every baby is different and as we see here, a lot of them can tolerate it. It’s a great ‘first food’ for babies. And they love it.

There's many different ways to start solids and with many different foods. I don't think any 2 doctors will give you the same advice and you'll just have to go by baby's cues. 
We started and 6 mo with my first and she was absolutely not interested in solids what so ever! It took her over a month to stop pushing out the solids with her tongue. 
So you might try with yours at 4 mo with avocado and they might be ready and love it, or not at all!

The WHO recommends to wait until 6 months. Research “the virgin gut”. Pediatricians like to pretend that their nutritionists but they’re not and every competent nutritionist will tell you to wait. Always do your research.
