Being induced early...?

Hi ladies, my husband in the navy and will be due to be deployed the start of September... my due date is the 24th. has anyone been able to get induced early by a few weeks so that your partner doesn't miss the birth? I know it's not a medical reason but otherwise he will miss everything etc. I'm not massively worried about him missing it but he is so just wanted to see what other people experiences were of this :)
