Starting baby food

Why are doctors telling people to start their babies on cereals or foods at Four Months? All the research is clear that starting before six months includes risks such as gas, diabetes, choking, obesity, gastroenteritis, and so many more. There are no proven benefits to starting before six months and most major health organizations recommend waiting until six months.

So why are doctors telling people (who don’t know the above information) to start at four months?? That information is outdated. Aren’t doctors supposed to keep up with the times?? Outside of cereal for reflux- how is that recommendation in the babies best interests?
