Advice on how to switch your baby off Nutramigen formula & which brand is best to go with?

We started this at about two weeks when baby boy was having some tummy troubles. It worked great. He has done really well on it. The doctor says now at 6 weeks we can switch off of it. I’m not sure if I should & what should I switch it too?

Check out a European brand. They’re much gentler on tiny tummies, with no unnecessary ingredients. We’ve used Lebenswert Bio, Hipp Dutch, and Holle (goats milk). Lebenswert is the most natural so I’d try that one. If you think your baby has an issue with cows milk you can try Holle goat.

Do you want to? Is there a need to? I’d honestly stay with it. Babies can be so picky, and that young it’s almost better to have the “if it aint broke, dont fix it” mindset with formula

If you’re on nutramigen, it’s because your LO has a dairy/soy intolerance right? I wouldn’t switch off it it personally since most other formulas have dairy and soy.

We had a true MSPI baby, so she couldn’t digest the full milk protein, and we were stuck with this $40 can as well. At about 6 months I started mixing this with the gentlease formulation (the milk proteins are still broken down, just not quite as much) and eventually went to about 50/50. By the time she was 1, we were just using the gentlease - which is about half the money! She’s currently 21 months, and still can’t do actual milk so we continue to use the gentlease toddler transitions (9+months) so we make sure she gets all her essential goodies that she’s missing from dairy! We tried several times to get ds2 off it. Didn't work til he was a year. If you really want to try, I'd start by mixing the formula 3/4 nutramigen and 1/4 regular or sensitive. If no issues, then go to half and half. Then 1/4 and 3/4. I'd stick with each stage for two days. I know it's expensive, and it smells terrible. However, the son we left on it has no allergies. the son that SHOULD have been on it but the pedi was clueless has a dairy allergy still at 6 years old.
