Breastfeeding must haves??

Question

what's the best type of nipple cream? disposable or reusable breast pads? Do you need nursing tanks or just nursing bras good enough? HELP! with my first baby I gave up on breastfeeding right away and with this baby I REALLY want to be successful so PLEASE comment with any and all breastfeeding tips!!

No breast pads unless you’re going out and can’t avoid it. They don’t allow your nipples to air out and heal! And motherlove nipple cream

The lactation consultants gave me nipple cream at the hospital - Medela brand - and I survived on about 2 little tubes - I brought home 4 or 5.
I preferred nursing tanks to nursing bras.  I lived in nursing tanks at home/outside of work.  I think I ditched nursing bras all together by 6 months.  I hated how they fit and I could easily scoop a boob out of a regular bra.
I used disposable breast pads - but only needed them the first 3/4 months.  I liked the Lanolish brand.  My husband bought me a different brand once and that brand chapped my skin...which was unpleasant.
The accessories are important, but aside from getting an easy nurser, l recommend learning as much as you can about achieving a good latch.  I spent a lot of time putting the baby on...taking the baby off...until the latch was right...and it really helped prevent pain and discomfort.

Just keep trying. It is super frustrating/painful in the beginning.... But after a few weeks it really gets better. you will feel like the baby is attached to you...but you get all the snuggles!

I used adhesive breast pads so I can stick them onto any shirts or bras I need for that day. The brand doesn’t matter too much. I just get the cheap target ones. I also use both tank tops and bras. Some days I just use the tanks because I don’t feel like wearing a bra, and they are comfy to sleep in. But the bras are needed when you go out

Reusable breast pads from bamboobies and only when you need them. Mother love nipple cream. I bought both nursing tanks and bras this time around. I loved the tanks with my first, but wanted to keep my options open.

coconut oil for nipples. I used both disposable and washable pads and preferred disposable because my nipples were too sensitive to the laundry detergent and they'd itch really bad. good luck!

I love lanolin. I tried other more expensive organic nipple creams and they were trash compared to good old lanolin. 
I only used nursing bras. Sleep bras in the early days, then more structured as my breasts regulated. 
I only used disposable nursing pads. Change them A LOT during the early days. At least every feeding. I like the parents choice brand from Walmart or the up and up from target. They’re good quality but cheaper. 
Don’t be afraid to see a lactation consultant if you have trouble at the beginning

I liked earth mama angel baby nipple cream or coconut oil for soreness and some cracking.  I used reusable breast pads with both my girls.  Some leak a lot and other dont, I happen to leak a lot especially from the side I want nursing on.
