being induced at 39 weeks because of bmi?

Laura

my doctor told me yesterday that they will induce me at 39 weeks because my BMI is too high and obese women have a greater chance of stillbirth if they carry too long. I'm torn on whether or not I want to allow this. on one hand it being scheduled make my life easier because my husband travels for work and we never know where he's going to or when he will be home. if I'm induced then he can definitely get off work and be with me. if I go naturally and he's not home he will have to hop on a plane. but reading that inductions and cause a lot of problems and leads to a greater chance of c sections makes me worry. I've ready that my weight isn't enough of a medical reason to induce me. I'm 30 years old 373 lbs and 5'11". this is our first child and I'm currently 29 weeks. any advice is welcomed. I am delivering at the best children's hospital in the state so I have a lot of faith in my doctors. the delivery floor has 4 doctors at all times so I do t think its necessarily a convenience thing for them to schedule inductions because they are always there. so I'm just concerned. I just want a healthy baby and hopefully and easy delivery.
