As a teacher, I’m really struggling with this...
“Generation Snowflake, or Snowflake Generation, is a neologistic term used to characterize the young adults of the 2010s as being more prone to taking offense and less resilient than previous generations, or as being too emotionally vulnerable to cope with views that challenge their own.”
PLEASE parents - don’t create this in your children. It makes it SO difficult for teachers. I feel like I can’t even contact parents anymore regarding behavioral or academic issues because they don’t have the teacher’s back- they have their child’s back. Since when do parents blame the teacher first???
It feels like the twilight zone.
It makes my teacher’s heart hurt. I’m only trying to help mold these kids to be responsible, accountable, productive members of society one day...! If only some of these parents knew!
I beg of you, please take this to heart.
And give your child’s teacher a hug. I promise you that they’re doing their best to make your child the best they can be.
And before someone says it....yes, there IS always one bad apple in the bunch. All teachers are not perfect and you are bound to run across one that really IS rotten and doesn’t have the child’s best interest at heart.
But most of us aren’t like that!! ❤️
