so I've seen all over my Facebook feed the last few days about this sock child Alfie and everyone's in outrage over it.. I have no idea what the story is about it all and can only seem to find updates?? anyone knows the proper story behind it all?

So the hospital had to battle the parents for custody of the child because the parents wanted to prolong treatment. 
The hospital had to prove to the court that what the parents were doing wasn’t in the child’s best interest, that the disease he had left no room for improvement on his life and that the best option was to let him go now rather than later. Which they did, and the hospital was granted custody and allowed to take him off life support. 
The parents (and supporters) tried to change the court’s mind and even went as far as asking Italy to grant him citizenship. 
Imo, the hospital did right by Alfie but it’s horrible that a parent had to watch their child die like this. I can’t say that I wouldn’t do the same thing for my child that Alfie’s parents did. It’s just bad all around
