need some advice
hi there, my name is Jen (questions below)

my due date is coming quickly (literally getting induced in two and a half weeks lol) and I'm getting a bit nervous.
my husband and I have two dogs. I have a five year old daughter thsts turning 6 that I had when I was 19, not planned, her dad is still in her life but not in any large way. This baby is my husbands and my rainbow baby. anyways.. back to the dogs
we got a puppy last June. we were trying for a baby at the time, he's a very good family dog. he is a one year old collie mix. he is so gentle and so loving toward my daughter and I know we've done an awesome job socializing him.

then we have our chow chow.

she is a senior dog, turning 11 this year. his socialization wasn't good as a pup, or through her years. it took awhile for us to let her be ungated with my daughter or even in the same room. about a year. we do not let my daughter be alone with either dogs (obviously common sense). but she can be nasty sometimes, to strangers, she's nipped and barked at me, and according to my husband has done the same to him in the past. she's very sore and old and cranky sometimes but she's still a good dog for my hubby. he loves her.
my main concern is she isn't going to take fondly to another addition being added to the family...we've set up large gates to seperate her and our puppy from the baby when she arrives. but my husband is insisting on her being 'fine' eventually. and I disagree with this completely. I don't think she will be fine with the baby. I think she will be passive agressive about the baby. any tips on introducing Senior dogs to babies or maybe just keeping them seperate ? both the dogs will receive attention and affection from my husband, daughter and i always. but is it wrong for me to want her seperate from the baby? I feel like it's just safer.. and I don't really know how to break that to my DH lol. I want to create a peaceful home for everyone. she's old an gets startled easily as well. . like if my daughter gets out of bed to pee, she starts barking. please anyone whose had Senior dogs and babies can you just chime in an tell me how you did things
