Sleep training

Just wondering if anyone would have some tips for sleep training. My son is only 4 months old right now, and I don’t plan on starting to sleep train until about 6 months as I was told not to do before then. I’m just looking to prepare myself for when the time comes. I’d like to eliminate the pacifier altogether if possible. He is a pretty decent sleeper. He still sleeps in our room for now because we moved and his room isn’t finished yet, but once it is finished I’d like him to sleep in is own room. TIA. ☺️
