Eating salami while pregnant?

Is it really THAT big of a chance that I could get listeria? 
I’ve been craving salami for the past 5 months and haven’t had any bc I’m afraid but I want it so bad. And I only like it cold. 
Is it dangerous to eat? :(

It’s fine! Eat cold sandwiches! You have more of a chance catching it from fruits and veggies!

When was the last time you heard about a listeria breakout from a deli? 
More chance of it coming from fruit at the moment & it would be all over the media

I've had lunch meat a few times. I've read some mixed things. but to me it seems like the risk isn't that bad. a little prob isn't a big deal!

Either heat it up or make sure the open a new pack when at the deli. But tbh... I’ve been eating it cold. Except in the beginning i heated up subway

The risk is very real and not at all worth it. The incidence of people contracting listeria has been severe enough to warrant the warnings in the first place, and secondly, even if the chance were small, are you really willing to risk your health and your baby’s health for lunch meat?! When I had cravings I could not give into, I would just find the next best thing and then go do something for the baby like make a blanket or work in the nursery. It helps put things in perspective.
