Our little man was born 4/26/18 at 8:59pm after 11 hours and 3 hours of pushing! He was stubborn and had his hand up by his face so he was getting stuck on the way out. We had to use the vacuum. This got him out! But unfortunately, the vacuum pulled the skin away from the skull and this broke blood vessels. He now has blood between his skin and skull. He had to be transferred to a level 4 NICU. He is currently being monitored every hour and not left alone. At this point, he is stable but his condition could be fatal.

We need all the prayers we can get!!

Update:

He is currently stable! The blood has not spread to his brain. 👍 All scans and tests are coming back normal. Next step is getting him to bottle feed but the pain in his head is making that difficult. So we have at least another couple days in the NICU. Hopefully the swelling goes down and we can tolerate being held up soon! 🤞

Update #2:

All tests are coming back normal! All the swelling in his head has completely gone down! He is jaundice, but that is a good sign bc that is a sign his red blood cells are increasing and the blood is reabsorbing. We are trying to breastfeed and bottle feeding. He is having a difficult time remembering to swallow and breath while eating, so it’s a work in progress. He will be able to go home once he masters eating!

Update #3

We were discharged yesterday! He made a full recovery and doctor says there shouldn’t be any long term impacts to his development!
