Am I overthinking?

Question

My boyfriend and I have dated for about a year and he is always of Facebook and we have no trust issues or anything but I’ll write a cute post about him or post a cute photo about him on Facebook and he usually ignores it and has never posted on Facebook about me. I know a lot of people might think “so what, who cares” but I do and every time I bring it up he starts screaming at me telling me I’m stupid and overreacting over Facebook when all I’d like to see is even a “I love you” or something cheesy but he ignores me yet has some of his high school crushes are on there which isn’t a huge deal but it would be nice if he acknowledged that he was with me with a post or picture. So in overall ladies am I over reacting and just leave it be?

When I had a fb my bf and I were friends on it and I would post pics of he and I but he never would (his ma would post Xmas pics and the like and tag him and myself) but he never did and it bothered me at first and then I just realized, I don’t care if “social media” knows about us, the people that care about us see us IN FLESH FORM.

My partner doesn't have any social media. I can't even talk to him unless we are in person since he has no phone either. But even if he did I wouldn't be upset if he didn't post. I have never been that type of person though, I don't post about anyone I'm with because it's between me and them. Maybe he just feels like the world doesn't need to see it as long as you do. I'd much rather someone just sit and talk with me and love me than post about me on social media.

For someone who’s always on a social network to never even mention their partner or acknowledge your posts is a bit suspicious. 
I’d take it as he’s hiding you, trying to keep his options open or up to some funny business. 
People will say “it’s just social networks 🤪” but social networks ARE a part of real life. They’re not a make believe fairytale land are they?

It’s not necessarily bad that he doesn’t do that maybe he’s just not huge into the social media but the fact that he screams at you and calls you stupid is not cool.

Omg same here! we've been together for 3 years and their is absolutely no pictures of me. but he has pictures of his cars.

He shouldn't be yelling at you. But I'm more like him when it comes to Facebook. All the couples I know who are cheesy and all over Facebook have tons of problems so it's not some cure all. I would cringe if my bf posted things like that, I like our relationship between us not published. And his family and friends know all about me, the difference is he talks to them about me in person, at parties, on the phone...I don't need photos and cheesy posts. Look at how he actually treats you, not how your social media accounts look

You shouldn't care about social media. Honestly if he was rejecting your I love yours in person then yes be annoyed. There used to be alot of women talking about how amazing their boyfriend was on my page and honestly it's so annoying. Somethings should be kept behind closed doors, I understand an occasional birthday or valentines posts but not every day "I love xyz". It's not necessary. Don't ruin a good thing cos of something so trivial.
